World Poker Tour Host Mike Sexton Featured on PocketFives Podcast
San Jose, Costa Rica (OPENPRESS) August 7, 2008 — The World Poker Tour has made headlines over the last week. The tournament series found a new home on Fox Sports Net for its seventh season and, just hours later, crowned the champion of its fourth Bellagio Cup, PocketFiver Mike “SirWatts” Watson. At the center of the action on the WPT circuit is Mike Sexton, lead commentator alongside Hollywood heartthrob Vince Van Patten. They have been the voice of the World Poker Tour since it debuted in 2002. Sexton joins the PocketFives Podcast this week.
Sexton comments on his thoughts when he learned that GSN, which currently airs the sixth season of the World Poker Tour, elected not to pick up the exclusive rights to Season VII: I was happy about it because I didn’t think that GSN was the right partner. I was continually bombarded with people asking me how to get GSN. They didn’t have the money to market the show properly. I think that Fox Sports Net is the perfect fit and that the WPT is going to shine.
